At our morning meeting, the Rotary Club hosted Kathleen Riordan, Esq., who taught us the key considerations in estate planning – things that everyone should know to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Ms. Riordan addressed the basics of wills, trusts and powers of attorney. She commented on how each of these can play an important role in managing the disposition of property after death, avoiding the complications and emotional stress of these matters being addressed in the courts. She also commented on the benefits of living wills and health care directives and how they can aid decision making in the care of patients who are unable to make medical decisions for themselves.
