Madison High School students came together with the Madison Rotary Club during a time of hardship.  They worked together to develop a plan to support Madison families struggling during the pandemic.   The town should be proud and continue to support this group as they work with foresight and maturity to bring a balance to the lives of our neighbors.  Tom Haralampoudis,  a veteran Rotarian and Madison resident stated, “I am so proud of this dedication and success from the program”  referring to the Interact Club’s free food collection service.  Click HERE to read more.

On Saturday, July 24th, the Interact Club celebrated their one year anniversary of the food collection program.  Over 70 generous Madison families donate on a bimonthly basis and their donations go directly to the food pantry at Madison’s First Baptist Church. “The impact the First Baptist food pantry is having on the Madison Community is a blessing. We are blessed to have a solid partnership with the Interact Club.  We asked and the Interact Club has consistently been there to assist”, said Gwen Pritchett of the food pantry.

Since the free collection service started in 2020 over 1500 bags of food have been donated, collected and delivered to the pantry. In addition to the front doorstep collection service, the students have raised $4000 which was given to the Interfaith Food Pantry.  In addition, the Madison High School Interact Club organized

three in-person food collections that benefited NourishNJ and participated in several Madison Rotary packaged food distributions. “We are so grateful to the Madison families that are participating in our free food collection service.  When we deliver that food, every other week, to the local food pantry we know that it is helping people in need” says Interact Club president Elisabetta Araya,  “If your family would like to join the service please email us at madisonendshunger@gmail.com.”  For additional information regarding becoming involved with this program or Madison Rotary email info@njrotary.org.
